Volunteer Ascension is a not-for-profit organization formed as a direct result of focus meetings held by the Parish President and Council in 1997. With a motto of "Volunteers Changing Lives", we continue to impact many children, elderly and families in need with temporary assistance to sustain them, through the help of our funders and great volunteers.
In 2009, Volunteer Ascension provided $1,117,111 in services and volunteer hours. Volunteers numbered 1,462 with almost 26,886 hours through Volunteer Ascension programs, and touched an estimate of 12,914 people directly.
Partnering with Ascension Parish O.H.S.E.P. in disasters and other emergency situations, Volunteer Ascension helps to provide a vehicle for volunteer efforts.
