In this day and age it seems that there is an app for everything, and I mean everything.  Technology continues to leap into the future catapulting us forward at light speed.  We are bound to our devices, addicted to information, and often burdened by the instant 24/7 access we have to each other and the world.  Don’t get me wrong, I love technology, but in our business there is no app that takes the place of the human heart.

In our day-to-day operations, I often find myself in situations where no spreadsheet or formula is going to help someone find shelter or school supplies for their children.  These are matters of the heart, and are handled best by stripping away all the things that distract us and getting back to basic mission of loving thy neighbor.  It never gets old, and it continues to humble me on a daily basis.

I say this often, but it is the absolute truth.  We are blessed with some amazing volunteers in Ascension Parish!  It is my honor and my pleasure to work closely with so many people, companies, and organizations that deeply care about others.  It is their commitment, their passion and their enthusiasm that continues to inspire me each and every day!
